Activities for Sports Lovers in the Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands is a great vacation destination for families and couples with varying interests. There are beaches to relax on, oceans to dive in, and plenty of outdoor activities to choose from. Here are some of the best activities for sports lovers in the Cayman Islands.

Scuba Diving

Grand Cayman offers more than 365 dive sites to explore. If you have the time, there are companies on the island that will get you scuba certified if you aren’t already. Go for a wall dive off of Grand Cayman’s North Wall that plunges over 6,000 feet. If you’re new to diving, you can also try diving on smaller coral reefs. Kittiwake on Grand Cayman is considered one of the best and most photographed reefs for diving. Take a trip to Stingray City and dive amongst the beautiful stingrays or the Bloody Bay Wall for coral views in Little Cayman.

Golfing

The Cayman Islands have two on-island golf courses. The North Sound Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course that is great for novice and experienced golfers. You’re sure to love the picture perfect ocean views as you perfect your swing. There’s also an open-air bar to enjoy onsite after your round of golf. The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club is just as fancy as it sounds. The nine-hole course is perfect for a quick round or two against the beautiful ocean and Ritz-Carlton hotel.

Horseback Riding

Have you ever wanted to ride a horse on the beach? You can do that in the Cayman Islands! There are several stables in the area that offer trail rides, beach rides, and even swim rides through the warm turquoise waters. Coral Stone Stables offers moonlight rides on the beach or hour-long shore rides. Book a sea swim with Spirit of the West and you’ll have an experience you’ll never forget swimming with a horse.

Sailing

Sailing on the ocean near the Cayman Islands is a once in a lifetime experience. Take a trip with Sail Cayman on their Splendour in the Wind and Lazy Daz sailboats. They even have a night time stingray snorkeling charter where you can swim the reefs with underwater flashlights. With Red Sail Cayman,  you can take a “Breakfast with the Rays” trip and see the stingrays early at Stingray City before anyone else. They also offer stingray sandbar, Rum Point, and sunset tours. Most of these tours pick up on Seven Mile Beach, right near popular Grand Cayman vacation rentals.
