Tips for First Time Fishers: Guide to Your First Purchases

Beginners can start with a rod, fishing line and a few accessories. Your new hobby doesn’t have to be expensive.

Rod and Reel
For a beginning fisher, you’ll need to purchase a rod and reel. You can purchase one at a local department store, bait shop or a sports store. They can range in price from a little over $10 to $30. You don’t need to pay an excessive amount of money for the first rod and reel. At this point, you shouldn’t worry about the kind of rod. There are choices between cane, graphite and fiberglass, but for a starter rod, you can choose one that feels comfortable for an affordable price.

Best College Towns on the East Coast to Visit

wellesley collegeCollege towns are often known for the university or college they are home to. But often times, these cities are more than just a home to students and faculty. They have historic charm that is worth visiting! Here are a few college cities to visit on the East Coast:

Burlington, Vermont

Ben-Jerrys-ConesBen and Jerry’s ice cream — need we say more? How about coffee and breweries? This little town has a lot to offer. Not only does it have a lively downtown with a lot of food options, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.
Hop on a bike and travel along their trails to take in the sights and also stop at one of the many breweries or take a spin around the University of Vermont.
